NEPTUNE CITY, NJ - Assemblywoman Margie Donlon and Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul (D-Monmouth) visited the city July 24th to announce a $100,000 grant from the FY2026 State Budget for the Neptune City Community Center.

“We’re proud to share that we were able to secure $100,000 for the Community Center so that they can continue the great work that they do,” Assemblywoman Peterpaul said. “This isn’t just about money. It’s about an investment in the community.”

Located at 117 Third Avenue, the Community Center provides affordable registration fees for seniors, children, and adults. The center features a full gymnasium, game room, TV lounge, computer room, fitness room, and multi-purpose room.

“We successfully advocated for funding in the state budget for many local community programs that provide recreation and socializing opportunities for Monmouth County residents,” Assemblywoman Donlon said. “The Community Center is a beautiful space that is inviting to all.”

Assemblywomen Donlon and Peterpaul welcomed Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-Middlesex) to the Neptune City Community Center, where they joined Mayor Rachel McGreevy, Board of Recreation Chair Kate Thomas, and Community Center Director Courtney Pappas.

Mayor McGreevy called the Community Center “the hub of our Community. It serves all ages. This Community Center was built very well. But we haven’t had any material upgrades since it was built in 2003,” she said.

“We successfully advocated for funding in the state budget for many local community programs that provide recreation and socializing opportunities for Monmouth County residents, as well for the property tax relief programs, ANCHOR, Senior Freeze, and Stay NJ,” Senator Gopal added.

“As I go through the state and see community centers in New Jersey, it is nice to see the impact they have on communities,” Speaker Coughlin said. “We know this is important to the community because they’ve told us.”
